Vocal Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has continued to make the headlines for his managerial character, arrogance, funny interview and ‘park the bus’ tactics.
Famously known as the "Special One", the 53-year-old gaffer managed top European teams from FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and currently Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho
He was recently humiliated by Antonio Conte’s Chelsea beating him 4 - 0.
Here are four managers who have a better record against the self-acclaimed ‘Special One’.
1. Tony Pulis
The Welsh manager is known for his defensive tactics and midfield organization. The current West Bromwich Albion manager has a very good record against Jose Mourinho’s men.
Tony Pulis
It was much the same when Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion took Mourinho’s Chelsea apart 3 - 0 at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
2. Alan Pardew
The former Newcastle manager gave Magpies fans some joy against Mourinho’s Chelsea.
Alan Pardew
The 14-game unbeaten run of the Blues were dashed at the Saint James’ Park during the 2014-15 season. Mourinho’s side bowed to pressure from Pardew’s men 2 – 1.
Mourinho has so far faced 2 defeats in 3 games against Pardew’s sides.
3. Rafael Benitez
The duo’s rivalry began when Mourinho joined Premier League in 2004. Benitez at that time was in-charge at Anfield and the ‘park the bus football’ man was at Stamford Bridge.
Rafa Benitez
The duo have so far faced each other twelve times with both managers tasting four defeats.
4. Pep Guardiola
Arguably, Pep Guardiola could be regarded as the best manager at the moment. The former Barcelona tactician has defeated almost every big coach from Allegri, Ancelotti, Conte and Simeone.
Pep Guardiola
During his time at Real Madrid, it did seem like Mourinho would find a way to end Barcelona’s dominance but Guardiola got the better of him defeating Mourinho’s men 5 - 0.
Guardiola's Manchester City also defeated Mourinho’s Manchester United 2 - 1 in the 2016/2017 EPL season.
